Staff Engineer - FPGA Microsemi - Hyderabad Area, India

Job description

The chosen candidate  will be part of Solutions Engineering team working with Internal and External customers on the following:

Job Description

• Develop complex FPGA designs based on Microsemi SoC FPGA.
• Develop and optimize FPGA designs for Timing, Area/Utilization and Power.
• Develop collaterals such as application notes, tutorials, hardware demos and development kits.
• Develop algorithms and validate IP cores in Hardware and associated software.
• Provide pre and post sales Design support to customers and the sales force, on MicroSemi SOC products, tools, hardware, and documentation.
• Developing training modules & documentation as needed
• Provide feedback to Software Engineering and Marketing to enhance the product.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications

• BSEE or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of experience
• Proficient in Verilog/VHDL design
• Working knowledge of FPGA design flow, Synthesis, Timing, debugging boards
•  Experience in simulation (Behavioral, post synthesis, post P&R)
• Knowledge of DSP theory or applications
• Knowledge of fixed point issues, DSP processor architectures, DSP tool chain
• Knowledge of FPGA architectures (Xilinx, Altera, Lattice, Microsemi)
• Understanding of DSP on FPGA will be an added advantage
• Good understanding of C/Matlab Knowledge of RTOS is a plus

• Knowledge of IP’s (AMBA AHB/APB, PCIe, SERDES, DDR, USB) desirable
• Working knowledge of embedded processors is a plus (ARM Cortex platform)
• Strong problem-solving skills, and ability to drive issues to closure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
